I’ll cut to the chase with my Supergirl teaser trailer review: Yikes. I got a bad feeling about this one. Oh! The movie has a June 26th, 2026, release date. I’ll get that out of the way. Here’s my issue and it’s the same one I spoke about on the podcast: What is Supergirl’s problem? Who is she fighting and why? In this trailer we see her helping her friend fight some baddies. Okay. Why do I care?
I reserve the right to be wrong, but watching a hungover, depressed, overpowered, heroine have fistfights isn’t my idea of a good time. IF your lead character is going to fight someone, the better be doing it for a good reason. Is Supergirl trying to get the baddie who destroyed Krypton? Is looking for redemption? Does she need money? What is going on? Oof. I got a bad feeling about Supergirl. Warner Bros and James Gunn have to be nervous wrecks right now. This Supergirl teaser trailer isn’t helping.

Dig it. What was the plot to her movie. This new one looks…lame. I’ll be nice here.
Some crazy love triangle involving witchcraft and super powers. But it’s the 80s so anything goes!! Helen Slater FTW.
One can only speculate as to the extracurricular activities going on during the filming. I’ve heard stories of total insanity from film and sitcom sets during the 80’s.
