Avengers: Doomsday – Captain America trailer. Let’s discuss.

Here’s the trailer for Avengers: Doomsday with Captain America himself, Steve Rogers. Take a look and then we’ll discuss. Deal? Good. I definitely have thoughts on what this means for Marvel and the MCU.

Okay, I’ve watched this a couple of time now and I have some thoughts. I’ll skip any kind of BS longwinded preamble a get to the point.

Think we’re all glad to see Chris Evans back as Captain America. Nothing against the Falcon, but dude? You the Falcon. End of story. Now for the bad news. As much as I look forward to seeing Captain America back in Avengers: Doomsday, it’s all just proof that nothing matters in these movies anymore. Meaning: Marvel fucked up with the multi-verse, time travel thing. No one is gone forever. No one really ‘Dies’. You can just travel back in time or skip over to a multiverse and pick up a new one! That was pretty much the plot to Deadpool and Wolverine.

So, if no one is really gone? Why is the audience supposed to worry about anyone? It’s just a matter of how they will come back. And that, kids is a recipe for failure as a storyteller. If no one cares about your characters? You have big, big problems with any kind of compelling story. Let’s see what happens though. So, far the list of possible cameos in the movie is more compelling than anything else about Avengers: Doomsday.
