The situation in Iran looks to have escalated from protests about inflation, to more of a revolution. The videos and pictures that are coming out of Iran have never been more important. It would appear that the people of Iran have had enough and are fighting for real change. It’s incredible stuff. What is the latest news and how can the U.S. help the Iranian people?

The people of Iran look to have made a decision. They want freedom. The current regime is hitting back in the most brutal way possible. Massacres in the street. Gunning down their own people. It’s a horror show. So, what can the U.S. do? What will Trump do? And the big question: What can be done?

Beyond the usual, Sanctions talk and Diplomatic rhetoric, what can actually help? Information and communications are key. Regimes like the one in Iran like to do their dirty work in the dark. Letting the world know what is actually happening on the ground is key. Giving people hope.

The U.S can partner with private companies like SpaceX to provide satellite internet (e.g., Starlink terminals) and free VPNs to bypass the regime’s blackout, allowing protesters to coordinate and share evidence of abuses. Musk has provided Starlink, but blackouts and VPNs are still an issue.

Another good sign is this from Trump: Help is on it’s way.

Now the U.S. Military is moving around. Troops are being moved from multiple bases.

Things are heating up, as they say. The people of Iran are rising up, and the U.S. looks to be in strong position to not only make threats but also back them up.
