One of the things I like about running this site is that we get a chance to shine a light on some unsung heroes and stories. People and events that we don’t think are getting the attention they deserve. It’s cool. We get to turn people onto stuff they might have overlooked. That’s what today’s musical pick is all about.
We are rocking and rolling with Mick Taylor and The Rolling Stones for the Sunday Jams. Here’s a guy that doesn’t get enough accolades in my opinion. Dude was with the Stones from 1968 – 1974 and played on some absolute classic albums. I’ll leave it at that. He’s awesome. He’s a champion of a guitarist and? It’s his birthday! Here’s Mick Taylor and The Rolling Stones on Sunay Jams. Happy Birthday, Mick!
I’m sticking with Exile on Main St. today. There’s just too much good stuff to choose from and I’ll go bonkers. Sunday Jams has a 3-song limit so here goes.
Good lord I live this song. Every, single…time I hear it.
Here’s another one that just is unskippable. There’s just an insane amount of high quality, soul shaking, ear quaking music to pick from. Here’s this absolute jam though. We’ll revisit the Mick Taylor years soon though.
A fantastic Sunday Jams featuring Mick Taylor and the Rolling Stones. You are so right, Taylor does not get the credit he so richly deserves.
You picked a great album and 3 killer songs to highlight his guitar work. It’s great that he can get his due on The Loftus Party site and be recognized as one outstanding musician. Happy Birthday Mick Taylor! Thanks for the great Sunday Jams,Michael!
yeah, not enough people recognize Mick’s work. Dude was a really good influence. It’s crazy how many people have zero clue
