I’m going with Squeeze on this week’s Sunday Jams for one reason only: I can’t stop thinking out one of their songs. It’s been in my head all morning. It’s Saturday, by the way and I’m in St Louis doing some shows. Having a blast too, I might add. Anyway, due to this one Squeeze song rolling around my noggin all morning, I have decided to go with these dudes for the jams. It’s a vibe and let’s just go with it. Here’s 3 high quality songs from Squeeze on Sunday Jams.
This is the one by the way. ALL morning. Not even kidding. LOL!
I’m putting this one on here too. Why? I’m a whore and I want people to be happy. Also? The line “Oh, now she’s gone…” and the way the dude just sings the fuck outta that line. Damn. Heartache coming through the speakers!
Michael,my music brother, I was going to suggest Squeeze for Sunday Jams and you beat me to it. Lisa Kay did one of the other ones,The Black Keys. Darn it. Great minds think alike.
Squeeze is one of my fave British bands. You picked some great songs. Love them all. Yes, Glenn Tilbrook sings the crap out of “Oh,now she’s gone…” HA! I was working late shift at a building being fitted for fiber optics cable and I would blast “Black Coffee In Bed” everytime that line came up the whole crew would sing it. It was hilarious. A fantastic pick for Sunday Jams.
I have more suggestions for Sunday Jams:
Procol Harum- Whiter Shade of Pale (of course!) ,Conquistador (the version from their 1971 Live w/ the Edmonton Symphony Orchestra is great), Whiskey Train w/ Robin Trower on guitar.
Grace Potter- Only Love, Apologies, Ready ,Set,Go
Amos Lee- Seen It All Before, Windows Are Rolled Down, Chill In The Air
Hopefully you’ll like them. Thanks for your great taste in music Michael. It always impresses me.
Let’s gooooo! Love the sunday jams.
Gotta say I’m a YUGE Traffic (Steve Winwood) fan — saw him two summers ago in Detroit. He’s known as an organist and blue-eyed soul singer, but his lead guitar work is outta sight, especially Dear Mr. Fantasy.
Do you remember Joe Jackson? He did it for me, too.
Love your website and the time you put into it. See ya on Gutfeld! Thanks!
Thank you so much! Glad you’re here! And agree. Ol Stevie Winwood does not suck. Crazy talented!
