Here’s the trailer for Supergirl with Milly Alcock. It’s the next part of the DCU from Warner Bros. Yup. That’s what’s going on here. Well, that’s what is supposed to be going on. Warner Bros and DC can’t seem to catch a break as now there are rumblings that Gunn is leaving the DCU and Zack Snyder may be coming back. Oof. It’s a mess and I can’t help but feel kinda bad for DC. They have been on the short end of the stick for decades. Warner Bros and everyone involved have screwed over the DCU again and again. It’s a shame. The superman movies? Oof. The Justice League? Oof. Wonder Woman 2? Sweet lord. Oof. Gunn was supposed to right the ship and he may be leaving. Just ouch.
But that’s not why we’re here. We’re here to talk about the trailer for Supergirl. There is a LOT going on with Supergirl and you can’t put too much weight on the trailer. Alcock can act. Not worried about her. The story, however? We’ll see about that. Saving Krypto seems like a good launch for a story. What will Supergirl learn along the way? That’s a fine story in my book. It’s a movie. You can do that. Just ask John Wick.
I could nit-pick on Supergirl being overpowered with the heat vision blasts, but where’s the fun in that. We could talk about tired ass girl power movies, but again: Where’s the fun in that? Why is she listening to classic American R&B music? Right? I just want to have a good time at the movies. Tada! End of story. Does Supergirl look like it’s a must see in theaters flick? Nope. But again, this is just a trailer. It might be fantastic. I hope so, for DC’s sake. Supergirl launches in theaters on June 26th.
