Here’s the trailer for the new movie from Ridley Scott, The Dog Stars. This flick is based on the novel of the same name by Peter Heller. So, here’s what we have with The Dog Stars. A pilot and his dog have survived a pandemic. He’s trying to make it in a post-apocalyptic world when he gets a mysterious radio transmission and sets out to find the source. Okay, I’m cool with all that.
Maybe our hero won’t be a putz. That would be a nice change of pace. And it’s got Josh Brolin too. He doesn’t suck as an actor. I’m in. I’ll check out The Dog Stars when it hits theaters on August 28. Here’s my one teeny beef with this trailer, and I can’t quite put my finger on it, but it doesn’t look like a movie. Maybe it’s the cinematography? The lenses? The framing of the shots and camera moves? But this felt like an Amazon Prime show. Is it just me? Does The Dog Stars look like a movie? Oh well, still gonna watch it.
