This news came out of left field. Just when everyone was up in arms over the horrible character design work on God of War, along comes Stellar Blade 2 to just cause havoc by being awesome. This is capitalism at its finest. Gamers can choose for themselves what visual aesthetic they want. Do they want art and beauty or… something else?
Let’s start comparing and contrasting, shall we? Just know that we are firmly on the side of the Stellar Blade games. This isn’t about not liking female characters. Nope. This is about an aesthetic. Let the game begin!

And yes. People are seeing the pattern. Male characters look the same in western games, but for some reason, the female characters get dialed down quite a bit on the beauty scale. Hmmmm.
So, big shout out to Stellar Blade: Blood Rain developers, Shift Up. They also had a massive hit with the first Stellar Blade. They know what they are doing. They’re making beautiful games and I cannot wait to see more. And the sales numbers. This should be good.
