There’s a new kind of trend happening on social media. It’s Europeans who are in America for the world cup. They are discovering America and Americans for the first time and having a blast. They post the updates from their adventures to X, and we all get to enjoy their reactions. It’s tons fun and I’m completely addicted.
It’s easy to get distracted as a native American and lose track of just how good things are here. America is awesome. We got it really good over here. We get bogged down in the day-to-day BS of things and sometimes lose track of the big picture: America is fantastic and so are the people who are posting their adventures. We love ya. Safe travels and thanks for the reminder!
Far and away, the superstar of these posts is FreddyLA7… he’s from Germany and his account is blowing up. He’s having a good trip. HA!
Cross country drive and some Ella Langley on the radio? Good times.
Freddy is getting famous.
This made me laugh. Welcome to the world of the free refill. We like it too.
It just goes on and on and it’s fantastic.
Have you all, safe travels.
I’m glad the visitors are enjoying our beautiful land.
All gone to look for America

In the mid 2000s I took my restored M35 military truck on several 2-week road trips. At 50MPH on secondary highways, all you see is scenery, towns, people, all everywhere different. No howling down interstates past a blur in that truck, but time was on my side. You get to really see some of the the best samples. Very loose itinerary, electronics and military surplus stores, funky old motels, rock shops near the Trinity site out in the desert, and anything else on the way, e.g. Mt. Rushmore, and meeting people was easy in that vehicle. A cop pulled up to me in a home depot parking lot where I was getting an RV adapter to run the lights and a/c at KOAs. He just wanted to ask about the truck and admire it. Driving through a driving rain (M35 wipers are garbage) something big and black, which isn’t afraid to fly in driving rain at night, smacked head-on into the right windshield and cracked it, knocked the wiper off. Pulled into the next truck stop which was next to some kind of huge factory or refinery that was running 24×7. In the diner, the waitress was saucy and the chow was the best as truck stop food goes. At the next table a couple of tough looking bikers sat down. They were talking about Jesus. Way out in the middle of an empty highway I can’t remember the number of, some guy was playing S&G’s America over the CB radio from a big base station. That station was listenable for about 40 miles.
Looking for America. I say I found it. This article tells me it’s still there and there’s always more to see.
That’s awesome! Thanks for sharing. Am digging all the vids of these people having a good time. The Boston stuff especially. HA!
I sincerely hope they have the best time ever and remember these road trips to their friends and relatives back home!
I’m with you. Want them all to have a great time!
I have to think they won’t be able to shut up about it. LOL
