The stars have aligned to bring us a wonderfully fitting batch of songs this week. We’ve got Sheryl Crow on Sunday Jams. Now maybe this is due to me doing shows in Las Vegas. Maybe it has something to do with just wanting to have some fun. Don’t know. Don’t care. Here’s what I do know: These are some good tunes and we’re going with it. We’re not going to get into it about selling tesla’s or one sheet of toilet paper for your booty. No. We are just going to enjoy some tunes. That’s it.

I’m in love the guitar tones in this song. That intro and those chords are fcking righteous. Not hating that slide either. Maybe it’s lap steel. Don’t care. I love it.

What a fantastic pick for Sunday Jams. While I don’t share Sheryl Crow’s political views,it never keeps me from enjoying some fabulous music. “All I Wanna Do” was such a great introduction to the masses for her. It’s such an infectious song and has such a great hook to it. “If it Makes You Happy” is a big favorite of mine. Jeff Trott (who wrote it as a country song and then Sheryl Crow added lyrics to it and took it in a whole other direction) played the guitar on that song which he layered a mandolin,a baritone guitar, a 1973 Gibson Les Paul (which YES he played slide guitar on) and a 1963 Telecaster, he played the electric guitar parts through a Fender Concert Amp and Vox AC30 to get that rock distortion sound. It’s fantastic. YES, I’m a total gear geek.Love that song. Leaving Las Vegas is a definite classic. A great song. It’s always fun to see what your Sunday Jams pick is going to be and I always enjoy your awesome taste in music. Thanks Michael!
It’s funny to me. I had heard more smack talked about Sheryl Crow… and I think the are mostly true stories. HA! But for some reason I just can’t hold it against her. She’s got some great tunes! You can’t help but like em! LOL!
