Crazy things happen without USAID money.

What happens when you stop spending mountains of money on USAID? It would appear that quite a few things change, relatively quickly. Now maybe this all just bunch of wild coincidences but wow. The internet is having a field day with all the craziness.

Before we begin with all the wacky posts, a bit of a USAID history lesson seems like a good idea.

September 1961: President John F. Kennedy signs the Foreign Assistance Act, separating military and non-military aid. This is when the check book first got opened. All of the sudden, people could use this money to ‘spread democracy’ and that kind of thing. By 1967, there were partnerships to stop smallpox.

USAID just kept growing though. An endless supply of money had been found.

2001–2024: USAID operates with an average budget of $23 billion per year, managing missions in over 100 countries focused on democracy, health, and education. The annual budget seems to vary. Just sayin.

The U.S. Agency for International Development (USAID) has historically had an annual budget ranging between $35 billion and $44 billion. This accounts for approximately 0.3% to less than 1% of the overall federal budget

Then in 2025 a large bit of USAID was shut down, and the remainder was folded into the State Dept. USAID is still a ‘thing’ just not as big and they closed the office.

Long story short: The money spigot of USAID got turned way down from raging river of money to a small creek. What happens when you do that? Let’s talk about that.

It’s madness. Sheer madness.

Naturally, the people who were getting all that money want it back. You can’t blame them. They got big stacks of cash and really didn’t do much to earn it. Now they need to do whatever they think will work to get the USAID money river flowing again. Step one? Emotional blackmail. Think of the children! That’s the go to technique.

Here come the headlines about dead kids. As of today, 4.5 million is the number.

Fortunatly Elon Musk has seen the books and has a good track record with money. He calls BS.

USAID needs to stay ‘shut down’ and what’s more? A public accounting of the money that’s still being spent is in order. That is OUR money.

Stay dead, USAID. Now, let’s focus on NGO’s and non-profits that the taxpayers are paying for. How about them apples?
