New hope for “The Hunt for Gollum” not sucking. Huzzah!

Hey Lord of the Rings and Tolkien fans! How about some good news for a bit of a change. There’s a bit hope springing up about ‘The Hunt for Gollum’. First up is a reminder that it’s just one movie. For all of us that were concerned the studio would try to squeeze multiple movies out of a ‘thin-ish’ story? Just doing one movie sounds like a much better chance for success. That’s a good piece of news.

Now for another good sign. Director and star of the film Andy Serkis isn’t backing down from his casting choices and appears to be staying true to the source material and Tolkien’s vision of Middle Earth. It’s a breath of fresh air. Good for Serkis for standing firm.

The Hunt for Gollum has a release date of Dec 17, 2027. Here’s more about the movie, the cast and bit of a teaser.

I’m actually interested in Kate Winslet as Smeagol’s grandmother. What’s up with that? Interesting. And I doubt that Ana Taylor Joy is Arwen. Just saying that now.

Here’s some quality viewing on the subject of The Hunt for Gollum and Serkis’ casting choices from Asmongold.
