As you probably have heard, Dolly Parton has passed on. She was 80 years of age. Now, I didn’t give her any kind of introduction like, singer-songwriter, or country music star because all of those feel too small. Dolly Parton was biiger than that. She was more like an American legend. She was beloved. By all.
I don’t know about you all, but I’ve never seen anything like this. It’s a sad, sad day. Dolly Parton was proof that you could do the right thing and still be wildly successful. The tributes and memories of Dolly are being shared all over the internet and I thought it would be a good idea to share some of those here. You are more than welcome to drop your own or ones that you’ve come across in the comments. RIP Dolly Parton. You will be missed.

What a wonderful tribute to my Country Goddess,Dolly Parton. As a kid, I was in awe of this beautiful woman with the voice of an angel. I finally got to see her in concert adorned in rhinestones and hair as they say in the south “jacked up to Jesus”. It was a magical. I’ll never forget it.What this wonderful woman achieved in her 80 years on this planet was something that we’ll never see again. She was just as kind,generous and down to earth as she was successful and involved her entire family in her business ventures and music career. She put struggling artists on her tours as the opening act to get them some exposure. I loved that she went out of the confines of country music and recorded with different musicians and then did a bluegrass album like Little Sparrow. If you’ve never heard it,check out her version of Collective Soul’s “Shine”. It’s great. So much can be said about Dolly, she never forgot her roots and her songs reflect that. She made it her mission to use her wealth to help others in her state and the country. The world just got a little less sparkly without her here. Rest In Peace Dolly 🦋
