It’s gotta be the time of year. This whole ‘end of Summer’ vibe is just its own thing. What can ya do though? I’ll tell you what you can do. You can crank up these songs from the Beatles on Sunday Jams. These tunes were all handpicked by yours truly. They are the perfect addition to a lazy, laid-back Sunday. It’s always tough when summer ends. At least we have some great tunes from The Beatles and John Lennon to help bid it adieu,personally selected by my music brother from another mother. “Don’t Let Me Down” is a heartfelt plea to Yoko from John and you can feel it in the recording. “In My Life”. According to Lennon,it was his first serious and mature song that dealt with life,loss (the death of Stu Sutcliffe) and love in a poignant way.It’s one of my favorites. “Cold Turkey” is a song that Lennon wanted to record with The Beatles,but they refused due to all of heroin withdrawal references . The primal screaming at the end was part of Lennon’s drug therapy. It’s the one part that I’m not a fan of,otherwise I like the song. It’s always fun when the Sunday Jams features my all time favorite group in the whole world with a great selection of songs. Thanks Michael!
