Howdy! I’m one of the lucky people who tapped out of the HBO DCU Lanterns show after the first episode! It didn’t take long for me to figure out that this take on Green Lanterns wasn’t going to be my cup of tea. Now, normally I would give a show 3 episodes before I drew the line, but alas, life is short and I have other things to do. But now for the people who were watching, we just passed the episode 3 mark. So what are people saying about Lanterns on HBO? Let’s find out.

Now in the spirit of honest reporting, Lanterns number so far have been good! Better than the Penguin! 9.3 million watched the premiere over the first three days, that’s good! HBO is probably happy! But now comes the test. People have seen 3 episodes and now they know what the show is. It’s about race and racists and privilege. There just happens to be a magic ring in there somewhere. LOL!

But just how real is the 9 million number? It’s been brought to my attention that Lanterns also was on HBO! So, you have the cable number and the HBOmax streaming numbers. Hmmm… very interesting!

Viewers tuned in because they wanted a show about Green Lanterns and they are getting a show about intergalactic Jim Crow. We’ll see what happens to the ratings as the true nature of the show comes to light.
