It happened. Elon Musk rolled out Cybercab. The fully autonomous, battery-electric vehicle. It is exclusively for ride- hailing and network robotaxi services. It’s a taxi with no driver and no steering wheel. The Cybercab went active yesterday on the streets of Austin. This is a real thing. Not a PR stunt.
Before we get to more info and reaction from the internet, I’ll just chime in to say that this is pretty awesome. The cybercab looks cool and yes, I’d ride in one for sure. I legit think that this is the future. Sure, we’ll always have cars that we steer and operate, but when it comes to getting a ride? Cybercab. If Uber is busy and the prices are crazy? Cybercab. No driver. No one is too tired or cancelled your ride. Just hop in a quiet rolling lounge and be on your way. Yup. This is the future we were told about.
