Back in 1992, Trisha Yearwood’s “Walkaway Joe” debuted. And an unknown actor played the eponymous character in the music video for the song. Just who was that unknown actor? A young Matthew McConaughey.

The song tells the story of a young woman who falls in love with a man that is no good. Yearwood sings the low melodies while Don Henley of The Eagles sings the high harmonies. Appropriately enough, the music video shot for the song visualizes the story in dramatic fashion. McConaughey plays the good-looking but no-good title character.
By the way, Weird Al Yankovic missed a golden opportunity for a parody here. “Walkaway Moe,” with a bunch of slow-motion shots of Moe Howard of The Three Stooges, would’ve been a great song and music video.
So with all that out of the way, enjoy the song and music video for “Walkaway Joe.”
