Gallup Poll: Just 6% of Republicans Have Confidence in TV News

Here’s a Gallup poll worth talking about. According to recent findings only 6% percent of Republicans had “a great deal” or “quite a lot” of confidence in TV news. The survey also found that 25% of Dems had confidence in television news. Wow!

Am I shocked? No. Does this point to a much larger problem in our society? Oh, hell yeah. We can’t go on like this. It’s laughably absurd. The vast majority of Americans don’t have faith in the news. At least the news on TV. How are we supposed to make well-informed decisions if we all think what we’re watching is bullshit? This doesn’t bode well, kids.

I kinda remember a guy a couple years back saying, “Fake news is the enemy of the people.” Guess what? Dude was right! This little experiment of a republic depends on a well-informed public making sound decisions based on facts. IF we can’t do that? We’re fucked. My hope now is that these numbers continue to go down so we can start over with the TV news as a whole.

Let’s rip it all down and start over. For the sake of the nation. And to the 25% of Dems that have high amounts of confidence in TV news, I’d love to know just what the fuck they were watching. What do they have confidence in exactly? Brian Williams? If it’s Brian…I got some bad news for ya.
