I’ve been an Arnold Schwarzenegger fan my entire life. I can’t begin to tell you how many times I’ve seen Terminator 2. Between Predator, Commando, Running Man and Raw Deal, Mr. Schwarzenegger must have made hundreds of dollars from me–even when his 80’s megastar began to fade, with not great action nor great humor movies like The Last Action Hero and The Sixth Day.

Let’s face it, my hero was great as an inarticulate killing machine, the self-deprecating comic actor in Twins and Kindergarten Cop and, his best work, Total Recall, but he began to decline after that.
I tried to love everything after T2, including every Terminator reboot, Eraser and his recent movie Aftermath–a serious portrayal of a guy who lost his family to an aviation accident who just wanted answers. It’s mostly disappointing. I was long departed from California when Arnold became governor, but I think I would have appreciated his moderate Republican stance in a deep blue state.
But nothing, and I mean nothing, could have disappointed me more than The Governator’s recent appearance with Lt. Col. Vindman. Vindman, who represents the true end of American military greatness–whose claim to fame was whining about Trump to a sympathetic media–appeared with Schwarzenegger to tell Americans, “Screw your freedom.”
I’ve supported Arnold financially more than Vindman ever did. So, sorry, not sorry, you’ve really let me down Arnie.
