Bluegrass and gospel music are wonderful. And The Petersens, who play regularly in Branson, Missouri, are great in those genres. But they transcend them and if you haven’t yet heard of this family band, you might want to check them out.

With the exception of dobroist Emmett Franz, The Petersens truly are a family band. They found success in Branson and have a growing presence on YouTube. Below you’ll get to hear one of their bluegrass and one of their gospel songs. But first, check out their original tune, “California.”
“California” is a poignant song about heartbreak. In fact, it’s arguably a great song. Not only are the vocals and music aesthetically pleasing, but the lyrics are heartfelt and meaningful. In other words, they aren’t just nonsense or filler like, in my opinion, the lyrics in the majority of popular songs for the past half century or more. Here it is.
Outstanding.
And as promised, below are one of their bluegrass songs and one of their gospel ones.
If you like what you hear from The Petersens, you know how to find more tunes from them.
