Here we go! Finally, a trailer for Thor: Love and Thunder. It looks great! Judging by the trailer this thing is going to be a monster hit. Absolute smash. Here’s the problem that we see Marvel having though. Ready? Taika Waititi. There’s only one of him. His sensibilities fit the Marvel/Thor brand like a glove. For whatever reason he and Hemsworth seem to be in perfect sync. The style of comedy these two pull off is easy to screw up. It’s a tightrope act. One step too far in the wrong direction and you’re screwed. You lose all dramatic tension, and everything becomes too silly. It’s a trick. When it works, it’s glorious. When it doesn’t? Ouch. Major suckage. So, let’s enjoy Thor: Love and Thunder. Because the end is nigh. Marvel will inevitably cut corners. Hire a new guy to direct, but they will want Waititi sensibilities. And it will suck. Ha! But this trailer? This is the good stuff. Enjoy it before they kill it with lame jokes.
