History is crazy. We’ll just start there. And if you are oblivious to past events, it’s as if they never happened. Which leads us to the 623 years of the Ottoman Empire and a bunch of stuff we had no idea happened like White Slavery. You might have heard about the Ottomans at some point in school and have an idea that they were a thing and they existed and then mysteriously disappeared leaving only lame jokes about footstools and ottomans behind. Well, we hope you have a footstool or something to sit on handy because you might need it after you watch this video.

Did you know the Ottoman Empire lasted for 623 years?! That’s one hell of a run! Holy shit. Then you casually drop the fact that, like most empires they had slaves, but these slaves were almost exclusively white, and your mind will be blown. Suddenly the Crusades make a bit more sense. Maybe they just didn’t start out of thin air. Huh… who knew?

So, we hope you find the video to be enlightening. History is wild. We find it interesting that the narrator seems to be putting a bit of a positive spin on Slaves in the ol’ Ottoman empire. Throwing in what sounds like quite a few upsides to being a slave. Don’t really agree with that notion. The slavery part kinda gets in the way. You know, being a slave and all. Not matter how you frame it, it’s horrible.
