The reviews are pouring in for the Top Gun sequel and people are digging it. Bigly. The Tom Cruise pic opened at an amazing $146 million. Skadoosh. We haven’t seen Top Gun (yet) but from what we an tell from the critics? It ain’t woke. That choice appears to be paying off for the filmmakers. Good. Could Hollywood finally be waking up to the fact that entertainment still matters? We doubt it. There’s a very good chance they’ll look at Top Gun as a fluke. They’ll tell themselves that it wasn’t woke because it was a military movie. That’s my guess. But at least this holiday weekend you can go to the movies and not be subjected to someone’s political beliefs. Ahhhhh, entertainment for the sake of entertainment. Good stuff.
