Disney implosion continues with ‘Lightyear’ Box office flop

Add it to the list of ways Disney is self-destructing. The new flick ‘Lightyear’ just flopped at the box office. Experts were predicting a gross of around $70 to $85 million in the U.S. with another $50 to $60 mill in foreign markets. Long story short? Expectations were for ‘Lightyear’ to rake in well over $100 million worldwide and it only sold $85 mill… that’s all total. That’s for the planet. Ouch. They didn’t even beat week 2 of the latest Jurassic World movie. That’s a big time ouch.

So, the new agenda driven Disney isn’t doing so well. After letting the world know they were going to be writing stories that would all include a political agenda, the audiences have turned away. The Disney stock is taken quite a hit as well. The 52-week high for the stock was $187. as of today it’s trading at $94. Ouchie, ouchie, ouch, ouch.

The entertainment giant seems bent on self-destruction. Unable to capitalize on both Marvel and Star Wars franchises. Audiences were completely underwhelmed with the new Kenobi series and Ms. Marvel failed to even register as a blip on Twitter. Now with the added failure of ‘Lightyear’, we just need to wonder how long Disney will continue this agenda driven kamikaze dive.
