This just in from out “what in the hell just happened” dept. Last night Rep. Lee Zeldin was doing a campaign event. Zeldin is running for Governor in New York. As he’s delivering comments ironically about crime going unpunished, an attacker came on stage, weapon in hand and tried to effectively stab Zeldin in the throat. Zeldin defended himself and security jumped into action and tackled the guy. So, we can watch the whole event on video. Numerous witnesses. This happened. Well, guess what? Zeldin’s alleged attacker is already out of jail! Released on his own recognizance. It’s so absurd you almost have to laugh. So, to recap. Lee Zeldin is running for Gov of NY because he claims the current Gov is too lenient on criminals. Zeldin is then physically assaulted on camera and his attacker is immediately released from jail. That just happened. We’re glad Rep. Zeldin is okay.
