Howlin’ Fun Songs for October

The weekend’s moon was big and full last night, and October’s spooky fall vibe is in full swing. Time to get those parties started with some wolfish music ready for a howlin’ good time:

“Howlin’ for You” by The Black Keys

It’s hard to find a Black Keys tune that doesn’t hit you right blues and rock feels. This is one of them that will get immediately cranks it up to eleven, and the Robert Rodriguez style video is a cool touch.

“The Wolf” by Siamés

Argentinian rockers SIAMÉS have a thing for nifty animated videos, and the stylized black-white-and-red gives their single “The Wolf” and extra edge. Plus, it’s a great tune.

“The Wolf” by The Delta Bombers

Okay, now time to get your cool, rockabilly fix, with the Las Vegas band The Delta Bombers. Great guitar, great beat, and plenty of mischief. Lock your doors, and keep your daughters safe. The Wolf is on the prowl.

“Keep The Wolves Away” by Uncle Lucius

We all need the mellow “bring it down” a bit and chill tune before the party gets too wild. Uncle Lucius will keep things under control with this easy-going song.

“Werewolves of London” by…Adam Sandler?

I know what everyone has been thinking. Where’s that “hairy handed gent who ran amok in Kent”? Well, I still love this tune any time of year, overplayed or not. It’s the funky, furry, fanged party song we all know.

In 2004, Adam Sandler performed this for a tribute album to the late Warren Zevon, and guess what? It’s really good!

Check it out, and happy howling, everyone.
