My, oh my. What do we have here? According to reports by the intercept and the new york post Facebook created a special portal where government and law enforcement officials could email the social media platform all in the name of fighting disinformation. And it’s still up and running. It’s the modern equivalent of the red phone/hotline from the olden days. Evidently the whole thing worked like this: Someone posts something the govt calls ‘disinformation’ on Facebook, and the DHS ‘Ministry of Truth’ can just send an email and the post would be flagged or go bye- bye. One recent use of the system was when people were questioning the origins of Covid. Facebook was removing any talk of the Wuhan lab until 2021. They decided it was misinformation, even though US spy agencies believe it is one of two possibilities for the start of the ol’ Rona.
Guess what? The portal is still open. The DHS can still shoot an email to Facebook and give em a heads up as to post they don’t like. The Ministry of Truth is still at work. Funny how all this happened right after Elon Musk first began the process of buying twitter. We’re sure it’s just a coincidence. It’s not like some Orwellian case of Big Brother deciding what you’re allowed to talk about on social media. This should terrify every American. Left, Right or Center. Without freedom of speech? We’re done. End of story. Americans firmly rejected the idea of the DHS and its Ministry of Truth. Yet here they are. Still going strong. Is there any oversight? Who watches the watchers? Did we vote for this? I don’t recall voting to have a government agency deciding what we could and couldn’t say. Do you?
