And here we have the trailer for Avatar: The Way of Water. They also could have called this movie ‘What Took So Long?’ Now maybe it’s the edit of the trailer itself, but we’re not exactly blown away. The 1st Avatar? Sure! That was a visual feast. Legit eye popping. Now there’s that expectation. Everyone knows it’s going to be beautiful. So, was it creature design? CGI team? What took so long? From what we can glean from the trailer, the story looks pretty straight forward. Bad guys show up. Pandora people must unite and fight. The first Avatar can out in 2009. Was there a fierce contract dispute? What took so long? Frankly we’re not impressed. You make us wait over a decade then show us the same stuff… but now it’s in the water? Come on, man. Avatar: The Way of Water hits theaters on Dec 16, 2022.
