When politicians run around quoting the newest crime stats that were released by the FBI that claim crime is down, here’s a little something you should be aware of. Sure, the FBI released a report. Yep, there was data and all that good stuff. Here’s the rub: The FBI crime report left out major cities like New York, Los Angeles and many more! So, maybe put more faith in your own eyes and ears than this desperately flawed data.

Here’s where it gets really rich. The FBI report is based on data they receive from law enforcement agencies across the country. The participation is voluntary on behalf of law enforcement. And guess what? Nearly 40% of all law enforcement agencies — including in the nation’s two largest cities — failed to submit any data! And even with all those places not reporting? The FBI says crime only fell by 1%. Holy shit! It makes you wonder what the real number is! And it also makes you question why the FBI would even release the report knowing it lacked so much participation. Hmmm….
