Sunday Jams – The Traveling Wilburys

What an amazing moment in music history. George Harrison was basking in his magnificent comeback album, Cloud Nine that he worked on with Jeff Lynne of ELO fame. They were hanging out at Bob Dylans’s studio along with the legendary Roy Orbison and rock’s own mainstay, Tom Petty.

Thus, in 1988, The Traveling Wilburys were born – a supergroup that put so much talent in one place time and space warped.

“Handle With Care” dominated the airwaves and MTV- and for good reason.

Then tragically, Roy Orbison unexpectedly passed away. This ballad gained a special melancholy as it served as an homage to Roy.

And then the moment was over. The music industry moved on and the Wilburys’ second album (hilariously called Volume 3) came and went almost complete unnoticed.

Here’s a track you may or may not have heard. I hope it brings a new magic to your day.
