The Week in Memes – Balloonacy

As of an hour or so ago our Chinese Spy Balloon drama has ended not with a whimper but with a bang – a very silly bang.

But in the three days that the balloon passed over sovereign United States territory, memers were hard at work making this one of the best weeks so far.

Some expected a rapid, decisive response.

Regardless of whether we should have shot it down over the United States or out to sea, we knew one thing for sure.

Joe was on top of it.
Reactions were mixed

Some suspected that the balloon was not on a spy mission at all. China said it was for weather research. Others thought the CCP missed their favorite asset.

Miss you long time, Eric!
And what about the Hunter Biden / China connection?

The optics for the (former) superpower weren’t good however.

The right got a lot of flak from the hacks for being “alarmist” about a silly balloon. But we remember what they’ve lost their minds over. Davar Echad explains.

Maybe we should have assumed the obivious?

No. No MSG!

Oh, well that’s comforting.

OK, let’s end this with a random one.

Yep. It’s Balloonacy alright. But the craziness isn’t limited to the 100+ balloon memes floating around on social media. Some act like a victory parade should be held because the Pentagon received the thumbs-up to take it down. People seem to leave out the part where the “Big Guy” allowed China to float that thing over the United States for days as it gathered the data and photos China wanted, before it was popped.

Yes! It’s crazy that the thing was ever allowed to enter our airspace! I’m with you!
