A few years ago, a professional gamer named d4vd (born David Anthony Burke) started creating his own music to go with his montage videos of Fornite, because of he didn’t want to mess with the copyright headaches of social media.

As it turned out, his music was amazing, and his hit “Romantic Homicide” climbed to Number 3 on the alternative charts in July of 2022. Not bad for an esports dude.

His videos definitely appeal to the sensibilities of those who like more edgy, dark storytelling, but his voice and twangy melodies are ready for the slow dance.

Just a few month’s later he followed with another hit, and my favorite from him, “Here with Me.” It’s like listening to a rainy evening and just kicking back to a little peace before the big storm.

He’s following it up with a new single that just came out this week, “Sleep Well”. It looks like another steamy film noir reminiscent hit is on its way.
