It’s a kind of madness, really. They keep churning out new Transformers movies when they should just reboot the whole franchise. Hasbro and Paramount are in a cash grab death spiral with Optimus and the gang, and they need to take a breath and just start over. Reboot time. All the transformers’ movies with the exception of Bumblebee lack any real heart or connection with characters. It’s a tragic waste of a wonderful cinematic transformer’s universe. A blatant cash grab. Here we go again with Transformers: Rise of the Beasts. Will it make money? Meh. Probably. Will it sell toys? Meh. Probably. But you know what it COULD BE? A cultural phenomenon. Right up there with Star Wars. Sadly, the Transformers franchise lacks what Disney Star Wars lacks. People in charge who actually love the source material. It’s that simple. Until they fix that we’ll continue to get movies that are barely passable like this. Transformers: Rise of the Beasts. Moving pictures on a screen that no one really cares about. It’s a bummer. Another squandered opportunity for a franchise that should be the stuff of legend. This cash grab hits theaters on June 6th, 2023.
