It’s a feel good now, starve later kind of story. California just passed a ban on the sale of new diesel trucks starting in 2036! We have so many questions. Questions the people of California probably have as well. Questions these lawmakers don’t seem to have asked. Like: How are you going to get food to the stores? Are they thinking there will be fleets of electric trucks by 2036? Tick tock on clock. You might want to build charging stations, like, oh everywhere starting yesterday. Electric vehicles just don’t have the range. And for trucks carrying a full load? Stuck in California traffic? Who knows where they will just run out of charge? So, get those charging stations every 50 feet in places like LA, San Fran and San Diego. And where is the power for all these electric trucks going to come from? Wind? Solar? Good luck with that too.
All of this is supposed to make people feel better. Like they’re ‘doing something’ to improve the air quality. Okay, how about a ban on private jets? Wouldn’t that be something you could do today? Right now? And a ban on private jets wouldn’t affect the food chain! I’m sure there are plenty of other things the good people could do before messing with their ability to get food. Maybe they can ship goods on that high-speed rail they built. Oh, that’s right… they promised that and never built it. Oops. Well, sleep easy California! The same people who can’t build a railroad are getting rid of the vehicles that bring your life sustaining FOOD. You’ll have a very blue sky as you faint on the sidewalk, making your way to an empty grocery store in the very near future.
