Here we are, in the hot days of summer where the air-conditioned movie theater was often the place we sought refuge. This week saw the surprise success of “Sound of Freedom”, the unsurprising flop of “Indiana Jones” and “Barbie” and “Oppenheimer” releasing on the same day. Also we got a horrifying sneak peak into “Snow Woke and the Seven Diverse Lovable Scamps.”

Next up, let’s take a look at the success that Hollywood can’t bear – a movie against child sex trafficking. Protip: never let your understanding of right and wrong be informed by the industry that gave us Kevin Spacey, Roman Polanski, Woody Allen and Harvey Weinstein.

“Sure,” they bellow, “child sex trafficking is wrong and stuff, but Q-Anon, fascist, Nazi!!”

“Barbie” is reportedly enjoying unexpected success. With it’s far-left academic feminism being the main selling point complete with heavy-handed messaging, it should have bombed. But think think about all those wealthy liberal white women in Blue States wanting to take their daughters to it. That’s fine, of course. We just didn’t expect the market for that to be as big as it was. Speaking of messaging.
