It’s that time of year when most of us have gotten our fix of summer sun, and are just waiting for the next season to cool things off and mellow the mood.
Are you ready for another round of some coolin’ off chill sounds? This isn’t exactly a “chill mix,” per se, but certainly songs that are good for just facing the hot summer day.
Here ya’ go.
“Mourning” by Post Malone
Post Malone’s music always has that chill vibe, and his new single sets off a too-hot, too tired, too hungover, yet hangin’ in there atmosphere that’s hard to not like. “The sun is killing my buzz, That’s why they call it ‘mourning’.”
“Wildflower” by 5 Seconds of Summer
My favorite song from these pop Aussies is “Youngblood”, but “Wildflower” has such a nice neo hippie tone. It just wants to cheer you up a bit in the summer heat.
“Wait by the River” by Lord Huron
I got to hear Lord Huron perform this tune live under the stars a few years back, and it has been a summer night favorite ever since. Consistently good sounds come from these dudes.
“Left and Right” by Charlie Puth (featuring Jung Kook)
I said a couple of weeks ago Jung Kook was about to be everywhere, and I wasn’t wrong. Not too long ago, Charlie Puth hitched his wagon to him for this catchy single, that sounds especially cool with a great set of stereo speakers in the car.
“Satellite” by Khalid
I loved watching the career of Khalid take off, especially since his music got huge while he was finishing his high school in El Paso (his older videos do a great job showing off the desert city in a good light). He keeps staying mellow…and staying cool.
Hope you all stay cool the rest of this summer as well.
