After John Wick 4 ended, I felt the could stop at this point. We completed the story and don’t need any more John Wick movies. Then the trailer dropped for the Peacock three-part series The Continental: From the World of John Wick, and I’m ready dive in again.
Set in the 70s, here’s the origin story of Continental Manager Winston Scott, played by Ian McShane in the movies. Colin Woodell plays the young Winston, and since I haven’t seen him in anything, this might be a breakout role if he does well. We also meet a young Charon played by Ayomide Adegun, who I hope does justice to the memory of the brilliant Lance Reddick.
Top billing goes to Mel Gibson, who has a job for the young Winston. That one did it for me…I’m in!
The 70s style, cars and music also looks amazing, and the action sequences just plain sleek. I hope this show doesn’t disappoint, as the trailer sure doesn’t:
The Continental: From the World of John Wick starts streaming on Peacock on Sept. 22.
