…and Starring Nic Cage

Pretty much all moviegoers know everything Nicholas Cage does, he’s going to put his entire heart and soul into.

Even when he was taking every movie available due to self-imposed financial burdens, he threw his whole self into it, often making bad movies better than they should have been.

If you look at some of the movie trailers popping up recently, it he hasn’t let up. Here’s some of the current movies circulating in the indie circles or coming soon to mainstream theatres starring…Nicholas Cage.

Pick your genre.

Action Comedy: The Retirement Plan

A mom and daughter get caught up in the middle of a crime enterprise, and go looking for estranged beach bum grandpa…who himself had a past…for help. This is a familiar “old-guy-was-once-a-dangerous-killer” trope, but with the Cage treatment is should be a cool watch. It was just released this month in theatres.

Horror Thriller: Sympathy for the Devil

Nic Cage plays a psychotic passenger who holds a seemingly innocent driver at gunpoint and forces him on a dangerous ride. This movie got a little lost in the crowd when it was released in late July, but it might be fun creepy October watch now on various streaming services.

Cerebral Comedy: Dream Scenario

Nic Cage is an unassuming average man who finds himself shot into fame as he is somehow appearing in the dreams of millions of people. Who said there are no new ideas? Scheduled to come out in November.

Dark Western: Butcher’s Crossing

Cage plays an increasingly unhinged buffalo hunter and group leader, joined by a recent college drop-out who has know idea what he just got himself into. This movie premiered at an indie festival in 2022, but is coming to mainstream theatres next month.

Whether you like Nic Cage or not, you have to admire his work ethic. Remember the famous Andy Warhol quote that in the future, everyone will be famous for 15 minutes? Well it seems in the future all movies will star Nic Cage. That’s not a bad thing.
