I came across “Old Dads” on Netflix the other night. I like Bill Burr and his no-bs anti-woke humor. Yes, he’s liberal. Yes, he makes fun of the right. But it’s refreshing to see people like him, Bill Maher and others push back on the New Religion of Woke.
“Old Dads” is just that. It’s made for the Gen X crowd and its premise is three middle-aged dads who all hit a different flavor of mid-life crises. This isn’t a movie review. I did like it enough to want to do a Middle Age Movie Review, but time constraints and all that.
So let’s talk about pissing off all the right people. Since I was a kid movie critics seldom represented the paying movie-goer. Art films that no one saw were lauded. Popcorn films were lowbrow and got the harsh treatment.
Then they started bringing their politics into it. Just like weather forecasters were the pioneers of fake news, movie critics were the first to bring their obnoxious liberal bias to everything.
Check out Yellow Flash 2’s breakdown! It’s almost as entertaining as the movie.
