Let’s take a look at the new game from the makers of ‘No Man’s Sky’, it’s called ‘Light No Fire’. The trailer looks incredibly cool. And just like No Mans Sky, the idea of the game is outstanding. But can Light No Fire work? And if it does work, what happens next? So, many questions. Okay, so from what we have learned, the idea behind Light No Fire is you’re on a planet the size of Earth. This is all generated by a computer. It’s a survival, sandbox game. You and your team are going to build and survive. All on a wild planet that will be inhabited by all kinds of crazy creatures. Very cool.
The idea of Light No Fire is outstanding; however, we have a hard time imagining the amount of memory a system would need to keep track of all the info of an earth sized play environment. We have to think this ‘planet’ will be brand new, every time you log on. Similar to Minecraft. You start the game, and the computer generates the world. One huge caveat: If I’m wrong… and you can save your progress and keep coming back to the same ‘Earth’ and run into other players? And encounter what they’ve built? Well, that would make Light No Fire the game of all games. It would truly be insane. And amazing to play. Factions would arise. Lines would be drawn and crossed. Wars would start. It would be insane.
But just like “No Mans Sky” over promised, we think the same is probably going to be the case for “Light No Fire.” We shall see. It’s going to be a bit of a wait too. Light No Fire doesn’t have a release date yet.
