I’m only two episodes in and I’ll go ahead and give this one the thumbs up. Check out Blue Eye Samurai on Netflix. I’m already looking forward to episode three tonight. Blue Eye Samurai is a classic tale of revenge. Our hero, Mizu is making her way across feudal Japan looking for the people who did her wrong. Let’s go! Now, Mizu is a blue-eyed mixed-race girl and that makes her social outcast of all time. Let’s just say her quest for revenge will be that much harder. She’s a girl disguised as a boy and she’s got the blue eyes that are a dead giveaway to her mixed-race background.

The animation and art design for Blue Eye Samurai is gorgeous. The writing is smart, and the characters aren’t 2-dimensional creations that just do things becasue it will look cool. They have hope and dreams and flaws. It’s good story telling. Which is a welcome thing in television today. Check out Blue Eye Samurai on Netflix. I think you’ll like it.
