The timing for this review is perfect. On last week’s episode of The Loftus Party Podcast, I was talking about the war on beauty and video games. It’s more and more evident that some group, somewhere has decided that almost everything needs to be ugly now. There is outrage when something is beautiful. From destroying works of art to attacking game developers for having characters that are good looking. What is going one? Why is Stellar Blade getting grief and Star Wars Outlaws not? Is it because one lead is hot and the other is not?
One of our favorite critics, The Critical Drinker has a new YouTube channel: The Critical Gamer. And he has a great take on what is going on. He also sees the incredible timing of all this insanity. On one hand? Stellar Blade. On the other? Star Wars Outlaws. Which way western man? Why is beauty so upsetting to some? Why does modern gaming suck?
