I want you to enjoy the same experience that I had after watching the trailer for Among the Trolls. It’s a new survival game from Forbidden Studios and Avantgarden. Here’s the trailer I watched. And no, it’s not Rick Astley, although that would be hilarious. This is a real game trailer. Take a look and I’ll let you know what I believe happened to Among the Trolls.

So much mystery! There’s gates and caves and an axe! Sadly, no trolls. Kind of thought we’d be among them. Don’t know where I got that idea. But what can ya do? It’s a survival game. We must be surviving the trolls we’re amongst. Just please lord, don’t let this be an environmentalist, political, green manifesto wrapped up as a game. Some, lame ‘we have to learn to be in balance with nature’ pedestrian, unimaginative garbage. If that was the case, I wouldn’t be shocked if they fired everyone involved!

Now it all starts to make sense. Among the Trolls was announced back in 2020. Try to remember where a lot of people were, emotionally then. Yeah…there was a lot of woke, going around. Woke was the future. I think that’s what we’re watching with Among the Trolls. Bummer.

So, here we are. That’s the emotional timeline for Among the Trolls. From the excitement of a fantasy survival game to the harsh reality of being a 30 something Finnish chick alone in the woods. Oof. Here’s my best guess: The realized no one wants that game. Maybe a handful of people would enjoy this. But in terms of making money? That’s not going to happen, so they pulled the plug. However, now some venture capitalists have come forward and they think they can whip the existing game into something that might make a few nickels if they pinch every penny and try to rebrand.

That’s my theory. Everyone thought they had ‘woke’ lightning in a bottle because it was the delusion at the time. They were still living in that fantasy world that hadn’t been burdened with a little thing called reality, yet. Disney Star Wars, Bud Light, Marvel movies. All of it was a very bright future in 2020 if you wanted to believe it. But reality is a cruel master and won’t be denied. It will be very interesting to see if Among the Trolls is ever released. They kind of have to, now. Right? We shall see. Maybe it will be the best game in the world, and they will have trolled us all.
