Full disclosure: I once wrote on an ABC Disney show. Many moons ago. Just so you know. Now to the subject at hand: Anthony Mackie and the Disney Marvel problem that’s just getting worse. Frankly I don’t think anything short of a miracle can save the new Captain America movie. It’s almost certainly going to fail. And now you have what’s left of the fanbase upset with this recent snippet of an Anthony Mackie interview.

That’s the sound bite. Mackie goes on about honesty and integrity etc.

So that’s better in terms of context. I think that Mackie realized what he said about America and how it would sound, so he tried to pivot to the whole acting is beautiful and let’s not say ‘no’ nonsense. It was actually a valiant effort on his part. I’m not mad at Mackie one little bit. I feel bad for the dude. He’s an actor who has been put in a horrible situation. He cannot win. It’s a lose-lose all the way around.

I guarantee that Disney Marvel is up his ass to downplay the whole “America” part of Captain America. Let’s not forget they marketed the first Captain America movie (the good one! The WW2 origin story) as “the first avenger” or some such bullshit. They have always been ashamed of the America part. That’s the sad reality.

Now add on the fact that this new “Falcon/Captain America” movie is certainly a woke turd, and Mr. Mackie finds himself behind the wheel of the USS Shit Show. He’s the guy who’s going to take the heat. He’s an actor. Dude didn’t write the script nor did he direct. He’s an actor. I think he’s good. And I don’t want him to take all the heat for the massive disaster that Disney Marvel laid in his lap.

Disney Marvel sucks. The Avengers/Back to the Future movie sucked. They killed Tony Stark for no good reason. The Hawkeye spinoff show sucked. Nothing but woke garbage has come out of that franchise for years. Years! The Eternals, Black Panther 2, all of it. Poorly written woke fan fiction. That’s not Anthony Mackies fault. They handed him a pile of money (and knowing Disney Marvel, it probably wasn’t a big pile) and gave him a feature film.

Unfortunately for Mackie, it’s the same dimwits in charge of Captain America. It’s gonna be a deeply flawed AKA shitty script that is trying to serve multiple woke overlords. It doesn’t stand a chance.

Let the internet have it’s fun with this Anthony Mackie interview, but I’m telling you: It’s not his fault. It’s Disney Marvel.

Everything related to Captain America is a gross echo of the first movie. That was the only Captain America flick that ‘worked’. Sorry. Thems the apples.
