Edgar Wright’s “The Running Man” looks like a winner.

This might be the remake that’s better than the original. Now don’t get me wrong. I’m a fan of the OG Running Man with Arnold, but when it comes to visual effects… let’s just say the 1987 flick had its challenges. I’ll just leave it at that. We live in an age of wonders now and CGI and all those fantastical tools. We also live in a time when the very funny and talented director, Edgar Wright has decided to retell “The Running Man” story. Mr. Wright is really good at what he does. Like, really, really good. I’ve thoroughly enjoyed all his other films. I’m stoked for Wright’s remake of “The Running Man”. It hits theaters on Nov 7th.

In case you couldn’t suss out what the movie is about… here ya go: In a near-future society, The Running Man is the top-rated show on television—a deadly competition where contestants, known as Runners, must survive 30 days while being hunted by professional assassins, with every move broadcast to a bloodthirsty public and each day bringing a greater cash reward. Desperate to save his sick daughter, working-class Ben Richards (Glen Powell) is convinced by the show’s charming but ruthless producer, Dan Killian (Josh Brolin), to enter the game as a last resort. But Ben’s defiance, instincts, and grit turn him into an unexpected fan favorite—and a threat to the entire system. As ratings skyrocket, so does the danger, and Ben must outwit not just the Hunters, but a nation addicted to watching him fall.
