Every once in a while a life hack or a recipe seen on social media catches the eye and is simply worth putting to the test. The latest recipe circulating around at The Loftus Party is for a “single serve pickle lemonade.” You can watch the video for the recipe here:
I feel this particular beverage is either a hard no (maybe for those who despise pickles) or sounds totally refreshing and worth a try. Well, it certainly caught my eye, and my taste buds, and I went straight for it. What was the consensus?

Pickle lemonade is pretty darn delicious!! Would I recommend you try for yourself? Absolutely! Nothing like a large cold glass of lemonade on a hot summer day. And the health benefits of a shot of pickle juice is just a bonus.
The recipe seen in the video is for a single serve, which followed step-by-step, is simply tasty. As someone who likes to avoid sugar as much as possible, I would reduce the amount of sugar by half. The zing of the dill pickle is enough to offset the sour flavor of less added sugar. Also, and this is a biggie, I highly recommend the Claussen Kosher Dill pickles found in the refrigerator section of the grocery store. Some folks commented on the X post with other brands of pickles. I’d definitely start with the Claussen for the inaugural test. And then expand your horizons from there. Don’t worry, this post is not sponsored by the Claussen pickle company. It’s just something my Mema instilled in me as a kid and I have never strayed.
So, is pickle lemonade a winner for the summer of 2025? Absolutely, yes!
