You’re 100% on! That book with the unfortunate rabbits is “Of Mice And Men” by John Steinbeck.
It was required literature in 8th grade of the 1960s. The story was a bit sad – the poor man was mentally challenged and didn’t know why his rabbits died – he just loved to hug them -like a little kid with a teddy bear. It was important to learn from books like that early in life. I guess. OK I’ve never been a criminal so they must have done me some good. Disney was very wholesome in those days too.
I don’t know if Disney can recover and not sure I really care any more. The child molestation, ultra-liberal claptrap, destroying classic stories to be woke, and what else? I blame hippies.
My point is there’s tons more exciting, fun, uplifting video entertainment around that may well be just as good as Disney.
With open source animation video tools snapping at the heels of the professional software, great productions have to happen sooner or later considering the untapped global creative talent that hasn’t had a chance in the game before these tools were possible.
One example is an independent animated adventure movie I didn’t get a chance to see in the theater last year, but can be streamed now and will be on DVD soon. It’s called “Flow”. – A cat and his new animal friends thrown together in a disaster must try to survive a global flood. – No spoken dialogue, just music, sounds, and animal calls/vocalizations. I’m expecting the DVD in September. https://flowthemovie.com/
I really want to see it. Hey it’s a 90 minute cat adventure movie what can I say. Disney used to churn out dog and cat movies and they were really good – made people happy. I have high expectations. Reminds me I need to buy a classic Mick T shirt. That is one happy beast there. A truly manly logo as well.
Agree 100% The animation space is going to really change with all the new tech! Hopefully better stories will make their way to the screen. Not just disney stuff. Heard Flow was good!
Glad you like the Mick shirt! That’s my shout out to Rockabilly art, which is awesome by the way. Wanted to design a mascot/logo that could emote! I think it came out really well! Thank you so much!
