Star Wars, Andor won the Emmy for Best Writing in a drama series. Good. Let’s celebrate that win. I’ll tell you why. Now, in my opinion the Emmy Awards are really just a glorified infomercial for TV shows, I’ll still take time to tip the cap to Disney, Star Wars, Andor and especially the Gilroys. The dudes that actually did the work and wrote the show. Andor was fantastic by the way. Both seasons of the show are worth watching. The writing was exceptional. I can’t stress that enough.
So, even though the Emmys are BS. I’ll celebrate the win for writing and Andor because that’s how Hollywood learns. When they do something we like? Pat them on the head. Clap. Cheer. That way they will do it again. Hoping for more applause. It’s show biz in it’s most basic form. When they do something you like? Cheer. And Andor certainly deserves the applause. It was a brilliant show. Congrats.
And for those who think the writing Emmy was due to the Mon Mothma speech from season 2? Sorry. It was well written, but it was the Luthen speech from season 1. No question. It’s how these things work. It’s Hollywood, kid.
All said, I’m motivated to get it on disc. My A/V is all DVD – but this is offered primarily in 4K and Blu Ray. LOL will I be dragged into the future by science fiction just like Spacex and NASA?
HA! Welcome to…the future! Maybe look into getting a playstation. Not sure about PS5.. but I use my PS4 for all my streaming. And it plays both Blu Ray and DVD. It’s a great machine. Love it. It also can play 3D DVD’s etc. You need to buy the glasses, but the image quality is insane.
