Welcome to another Week in Memes! Hopefully, you’re feeling the impending Christmas cheer. People are feeling a little more festive, charitable and happy – well except in the mall parking lot, but that’s to be expected. This week’s memes are overflowing with that beloved Canadian educational Turtle – Franklin. Weird? Of course. But this is humanity in all its twisted glory.

It all started with a post from Secretary of War, Pete Hegseth using Franklin to provoke the left’s manufactured outrage over the blowing up narco-terrorist’s at sea.

Is it in bad taste? Maybe. Is it dark? For sure. Is it hilarious? Well, ya! That said, it triggered a lot of outrage and memes.

First, the outrage as the owners of Franklin did their obligatory denouncement.

Let’s take a quick break from the memes for a quick lesson in popular culture. There’s this thing called the “Streisand Effect“.

It’s the “phenomenon in which an attempt to censor, hide, or otherwise draw attention away from something only serves to attract more attention to it.”

Like all good TWIM memes, this next one combines two current topic. Tim Walz was very hurt that someone (allegedly) called him “retard” in a drive-by incident.

Same with this one. Pandering Minneapolis mayor, Jacob Frey tried to show solidarity with the Somali community by (checks notes) eating their cuisine.

It did take a dark turn.
