The biggest of shout outs to Sturgill Simpson. This dude is crazy in all the right ways. I say crazy as term of respect in case you might have taken it the wrong way. So, let’s get into it. Here’s what this insanely cat has done now. Remember, Sturgill Simpson is not only making his own music. He’s also releasing music under the name ‘Johnny Blue Skies’. Well, Johnny Blue Skies and the Dark Clouds. Johnny needs a band, right? Of course.

Here’s my favorite part of this. Johnny Blue Skies and the Dark Clouds have an album that just came out: Mutiny after Midnight. And it’s pretty damn good! I may even be listening as I type. Yup. I like it. A lot.

Hat tip to Sturgill Simpson. Dude is doing is own thing. Damn the torpedoes and full steam ahead. It’s incredible what you can do when ya got that kind of talent and vision. Stand outs for me so far? Don’t let go and Viridescent. But who knows, there’s still side 2! But so far? Am digging it. Sturgill calls it “…relentless disco hedonism.” Might as well shoot for the stars, right? Zero problems with any of that.
